While mainstream media scorn Melania's shoes they're drooling over Michelle Obama's skirt
September 02, 2017
President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump have now made two visits to parts of Texas ravaged by Hurricane Harvey, first on Tuesday and again on Saturday.
Ridiculousness
During the trips, Melania's outfits, and specifically her shoes, have been a big topic of discussion. She was widely bashed for wearing stiletto heels, which turned out to be just travel shoes, during her first trip. She actually toured in tennis shoes.
The attention led to a fashion writer for Vogue magazine to rake Melania and her fashion choices over the coals.
"Melania Trump’s Hurricane Stilettos, and the White House’s Continual Failure to Understand Optics," the Vogue headline read.
She was also widely bashed on social media.
Double standard
However, when it came to former first lady Michelle Obama this week, liberals were drooling over Obama's fashion choices, specifically a skirt she was photographed wearing while on a yacht in the Mediterranean.
A news story from TMZ was particularly praising of Obama. It published a story with the headline: "Michelle Obama: Yacht Know How I Roll."
"Michelle Obama's life is on cruise control ... and yes, we're jealous as hell," the reporter said.
The story featured images of Michelle in her beach wrap skirt. The Daily Mail also devoted an entire story to Obama's outfit.
Funny, funny
Melania trolled her critics on Saturday when she again wore stiletto heels while flying to Texas, only to later change once on the ground.
